Continuing Education Department Profile
The Continuing Education Department (CED) is the Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University’s arm for professional development and workplace learning. It offers credit and non-credit short courses and organizes events covering areas such as business and total quality management, healthcare and environmental studies, education, and e-Learning. The CED also has well-established partnerships with internationally recognized organizations to offer certificate and diploma programs in various areas, and is continually seeking to broaden its relationships and establish new ones with professional and academic bodies.The Department also contributes to organizational excellence through its advisory and consultancy services for clients in the UAE and the Middle East. The activities of the CED are an integral part of the University lifelong learning model which creates pathways linking the individual’s competency enhancement to academic and professional success.

Focus Areas
The Continuing Education Department offers training and certification programs in various areas, consultancy services, and products to support lifelong learning. The Department also provides opportunities for research and publishing, and supports professional networks through hosting clubs and professional societies. All CE activities take place through four specialized centers of excellence and an executive club, and follow a model of learning that supports professional growth and development in the workplace at all levels.
Workplace Learning Model
A. Open Access These programs target all learners from various backgrounds and aim at providing introductory knowledge. The open access programs do not require any specific qualifications and are usually offered as general and sector-related programs.
B. Specialist Programs These programs target professionals in specialized fields. The purpose of these programs is to enhance knowledge and develop skills in specialized fields, and can be customized to meet the needs of organizations and groups of learners.
C. Accredited Qualifications Offered to individuals seeking professional certification in their fields.
D. Executive Development Ongoing programs that are offered to executives involved in making strategic and tactical decisions in their organizations, to enable them to be effective and innovative in their quest for delivering outstanding results. These programs address selected topics that meet the needs of executives and are offered in a flexible format to suit their schedules.
