Mission
The mission of the Publishing House Advisory Committee is to share constructive feedback to the University Publishing regarding its functions and products, and to enhance the University Publishing image in the wider community.
The Committee Members offer a range of skills: academic credentials; indigenous community and language knowledge; as well as writing and publishing expertise. They advise on considered manuscripts submitted for publication, along with University staff, on identified continuing education needs of constituencies interested in the fields of Total Quality Management and e Learning and on how to disseminate the information to them. They are expected to advise on choosing outstanding writings that promote better understanding of the quality literature and the e learning theory and practice.
The committee includes members with substantial experience in providing academics and professionals with the best published works in the field. The Committee should comprise Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University members and external renowned professional members with expertise in TQM, e learning and publishing.
It is imperative that our Advisory Committee comprises some external members which give us the opportunity to bring peripheral professional expertise and showcase our publishing business and to get feedback from them on how to improve our performance.
Role of Advisory Committee
Advisory Committee members will be asked to meet at least twice a year to discuss development and plans for the Publishing House products and services, and development in publishing that affect learners, readers, researchers and libraries. In addition, they will be asked to give their opinions about trends in the TQM and e learning domains, markets demand for knowledge and information, and practices that the Publishing House should consider in order to assuming a greater impact in the region and world wide. They will be expected to advise on developing editorial directions and emphases, evaluation of preliminary and full book proposals, and guide successful proposals through writing, editing, and publication.
